Our History
Ours is a beautiful story; one of great moments that led us to success. It all started with my need for a dog clipper. An ad on Kijiji led me to purchase a grooming salon that was in need of love and clients.
August 2025,
After 11 years, the salon is now the largest in Quebec. We form a wonderful team of 12 people, including 6 to 7 grooming technicians, the 3 Cuddlers/Assistants, and one receptionist.
The salon has been renovated and expanded. It's a clean, tidy environment where the dogs are calm and safe. Our loyal and experienced employees are integral to our success, sharing in the funny and unforgettable moments experienced within the walls of a one-of-a-kind grooming salon.
Social media has allowed us to gain recognition in France and Germany, where our business model has been replicated. Our involvement in mental health goes beyond the scope of work and has led to the creation of the "Bercethon" (Cradle-thon), "Câlinothon" (Cuddle-thon), conferences, interviews, and representation.
Thank you to the grooming technicians who have worked with us and who agreed to get involved and integrate these different young people, for whom this job has changed their lives.
Welcome to our home!
Annie Perron, Proud Owner
In the beginning, in January 2015, as the salon was gaining momentum, I was bothered by the constant barking. This gave me the idea of having someone dedicated to looking after the more restless dogs. I thought of people with intellectual disabilities who work in coffee shops. They are friendly and helpful employees, so why not integrate them into our salon? We therefore reached out to the rehabilitation center for intellectual disabilities, associated with the CIUSSS.
A new word and a new profession were created: Cuddler (Câlineur).
Cuddler = a benevolent employee, dedicated to the comfort and well-being of the animals waiting for their grooming or their owner. Their duties include rocking and petting.
The news spread, and clients are witnesses to magical moments and feel valued for contributing to the integration of an intellectually disabled person into the workplace.
